Conversion From Community to Foundation Status

Dear Parents and Carers,

The Board of Governors at The Nobel School agreed on 11 May 2016 to continue the process of conversion from community to foundation status with an effective date of 1st September 2016.

Once the school becomes a foundation school the Board of Governors is required to have two partnership governors. Such governors cannot be; a parent of a registered pupil at the school, eligible to be a staff governor at the school, an elected member of the Local Authority or employed by the Local Authority in connection with its education functions. The Board is looking to identify suitable candidates in the next two weeks (deadline Friday 27 May) such that the candidates can be prepared to start once the conversion process is completed.

We are looking for two governors that have skills in one or more of the following areas;

  • Leadership
  • Financial
  • contract law
  • legal and fundraising.

If you know of anyone who may be willing to volunteer and to contribute to continued success of The Nobel School please contact either the Head or chair of Governors at the school via the Head’s PA chantal.coakes@nobel.herts.sch.uk

Warm regards,
Richard Aggus
