Sixth form Nobelians are required to maintain a high standard of professional dress.  The purpose of this dress code is to reflect the pride Nobelians take in being part of our sixth form, whilst also maintaining the smart appearance of the lower school years.  Our sixth formers are leaders and role models for our younger students; therefore, we expect you to dress professionally and appropriately.

By joining the Nobel Sixth Form, you agree to adhere to our dress code.  Students in breach of the dress code will be sent home to change.

The Nobel Sixth Form dress code requires smart professional attire, as follows:

  • A suit (ie a jacket with matching skirt or full length trousers)
  • Tailored trousers, a skirt of dress
  • A buttoned shirt
  • A tie and smart v-neck jumper (optional)
  • Smart shoes
  • Your ID badge on its lanyard
  • In the summer, you are permitted to wear a smart, collared polo-shirt

The following items are not permitted:

  • Trainers, plimsolls, Converse, sandals or other informal footwear (including fur-trimmed boots)
  • Hooded tops, fleeces or sweatshirts
  • Leggings
  • Facial piercings (except a discreet nose stud or ring)
  • Any top that does not cover the midriff
  • Vest tops, T-shirts or low-cut tops
  • Tight fitting or revealing clothing
  • Torn or frayed clothes

In addition:

  • Coats should be removed for lessons, independent study and assemblies
  • Skirt or dress length must be appropriate for a business-like educational setting
  • Tattoos should not be visible and should be covered if necessary
  • Sportswear is never acceptable

Where there is a degree of subjectivity, the final judgement will be made by the Director of Sixth Form.
