Sixth form Nobelians are required to maintain a high standard of business-like dress.  The purpose of this dress code is to reflect the pride Nobelians take in being part of our sixth form, whilst also maintaining the smart appearance of the lower school years.

By joining the Nobel Sixth Form, you agree to adhere to our dress code.  Students in breach of the dress code will be sent home to change.

The Nobel Sixth Form dress code requires smart office wear, as follows:

A suit
Tailored trousers
A buttoned shirt
A smart V-neck jumper may be worn
Smart shoes
A suit (i.e. a jacket with matching skirt or full length trousers
A skirt, dress (must be near to the knee) or trousers
A fitted shirt or blouse without logos
Smart shoes

Exclusions – The following items are not permitted:

  • Trainers, plimsolls or other informal footwear
  • Hooded tops, fleeces or sweatshirts
  • Facial piercings (except a discreet nose stud)
  • Any top that does not cover the midriff
  • Vest tops or low cut tops
  • Tight fitting or revealing clothing

In addition:

  • Coats should be removed for lessons, independent study and assemblies
  • Skirt or dress length must be appropriate for a business-like educational setting, ie near to the knee
  • Tattoos should not be visible and should be covered if necessary
  • Hair colour should be natural

The Head of Sixth Form and the Heads of Years 12 and 13 will have the final say when deciding if a sixth form student is in breach of the dress code.
