Dear Parents,We will be piloting a new way for your son/ daughter to register for school PE enrichment activities during the school lunchtime and after school. It has important that all staff need to know where students are at these times and the registers need to be stored in one place. Please can you log onto the School Gateway and register your child for the enrichment activities they would like to be involved in. The school expects all students to participate in two enrichment clubs a term as this will help with their interpersonal skills, increase their confidence and will add experience to their curriculum vitae which employers will look on favourably when they are older. Many thanks Stephen Howells (Head of Enrichment and Character)

Driven by understanding that students who are confident and fluent in the numeracy foundations of maths are better equipped to thrive when they learn the higher-level maths or maths related concepts and the belief that all students can leave school functionally numerate our school, is part of an international project called Numeracy Ninjas.Numeracy Ninjas is a Key Stage 3 numeracy intervention designed to fill gaps in students’ basic mental calculation strategies and also to empower them with the numeracy skills and fluency required to fully access GCSE Maths concepts when they move to Key Stage 4 study.Furthermore, through growth mindsets and the promotion of regular practice, we want to ensure students’ perception of maths is positive and one in which they take pride and enjoyment.
