numeracyninja
Driven by understanding that students who are confident and fluent in the numeracy foundations of maths are better equipped to thrive when they learn the higher-level maths or maths related concepts and the belief that all students can leave school functionally numerate our school, is part of an international project called Numeracy Ninjas.

Numeracy Ninjas is a Key Stage 3 numeracy intervention designed to fill gaps in students’ basic mental calculation strategies and also to empower them with the numeracy skills and fluency required to fully access GCSE Maths concepts when they move to Key Stage 4 study.

Furthermore, through growth mindsets and the promotion of regular practice, we want to ensure students’ perception of maths is positive and one in which they take pride and enjoyment.

We have a regular once a week Numeracy Ninja session during afternoon form time.

Students who would like to get more practice to achieve Grand Master status can download extra sessions using the link.

To improve individual topics please see the additional intervention materials link. There are 10 days of exercises in each Ninja Skill Focus Worksheet. Students should complete the exercises each day consecutively for 10 days.

We hope that students and families would be able to use this page for supporting the development of numeracy skills at home too.

Happy Ninja-ing!
